Alex Lederle has been coaching soccer at the competitive club level since 2017, starting at Hoover Soccer club and currently at FC Birmingham (FCB) as the U19 Head coach.

Growing up in Northern Virginia, Coach Lederle was surrounded by a culturally diverse player pool and extremely high levels of competition & coaching.  He earned several offers to play collegiate soccer at Div II and Div III schools but chose to attend the University of Alabama - ROLL TIDE, and played for the Crimson Tide’s men’s club soccer team.  

Coach Lederle still actively plays in local adult men’s soccer leagues as well as occasional semi-pro level matches with FC Birmingham’s mens reserve team & Magic City SC’s indoor soccer team. 

While winning is important, Coach Lederle’s philosophy is based on development first and trying to create a love for the game that  players keep years after leaving high school & college.
