Joe Cross singled to score three more.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Jaguars went back into the lead after senior
Rhys Jones tripled down the left field line, and junior
Evan Taylor walked, each scoring a run.
Senior
Caden Smith earned the win for Spain Park. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out six and walking three. Ivan Hand took the loss for the Lions. The starter went three innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking four. Senior
Nathan Byrd collected the save for the Jags.
Jones and Cross were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Spain Park. Senior
Ryne Paquette went 2-for-3 at the plate and Nakazawa reached twice on walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Cross led the team with two stolen bases.Â
Spain Park will be hosting the Perfect Game tournament Thursday through Saturday.
