Junior
Connor Greb collected four hits in five at bats, as Spain Park defeated Gardendale 14-4 on Tuesday at Gardendale High School. Greb collected singles in first, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
The Jaguars got on the board in the top of the first inning after
Evan Taylor was struck by a pitch to bring in a run, and
Michael Johnson doubled, scoring two more.
Gardendale captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the first after Gunner Wyatt grounded into a double play, Cohen Corbell singled to center field, Tripp Green singled, and Josh Bailey walked, each scoring a run.
In the top of the second inning, Spain Park tied the game at 4 on a Rockets error. The Jags jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Taylor and Johnson both singled down the left field line, and
Slade Bounds hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Senior
Ryne Paquette earned the win for Spain Park, allowing five hits and no runs over 5.1 innings, striking out five and walking two. Parker Robinson took the loss for Gardendale.Â
Spain Park amassed 13 hits in the game. Johnson drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Jaguars with five RBIs on a 4-for-5 day. Senior
Joe Cross added three hits for Spain Park. The Jags added nine walks for the game, led by 3 each from SophomoreÂ
